"Let the Animals Touch You!" WHAT PEOPLE
SAY ABOUT LETTERS FROM PARENTS AT PARTIES Thank you for the magnificent critter presentation. As a principal and parent, this was the best awareness and preservation program I ever saw for children. We loved your magical surprises from the treefrog, bearded dragon, hedgehog, box turtle, hissing cockroaches, snake and parrot. The kids were mesmerized as well as the adults. You brought knowledge, enthusiasm, wit, charm and laughter to our house. (I never knew a snake has no ears.) You captured everyone's curiosity and you were the highlight of our party. Also, thank you for teaching us sign language. After you left, you and your critter friends were still excitedly "buzzing" (talking) around my house. The photos of each of our children with their favorite (critter) hangs proudly in their bedroom. Thank you, again, for making it so much fun! Norm (parent, principal)
I want to thank you and Kyle for a wonderful presentation! We all thoroughly enjoyed learning about and handling all the animals. Thank you so much for keeping the date for us and doing such a great job. I wish you well in your endeavor, you are providing a fabulous service to our youth and everyone whom your educate. You should have heard all the kids telling their parents all about the animals they held and saw at the party. They were really excited and learned a lot. Thank you again. Alison (parent)
I just wanted to say thank you again for brining your animal friends to my daughter Emily's 5th birthday party. After you left the kids kept talking about the animals and were all so excited to show their parents the pictures you took. You were just wonderful with the children and I so appreciate it. My husband and I were wishing we could hire you to come over every week to talk about the creatures you have! I really appreciate it! Michi (parent)
Thank you so much for coming to Sarah's birthday party. The kids (and adults!) absolutely loved your program. You are a gifted teacher, and I love the messages you impart. I know several of the children said they wanted you at their next party (and I hope you are!). Sarah said she wants her next birthday to be exactly the same. Thank you for sharing your message and love for the animals with us. Connie (parent)
Thank you so much for the excellent program you gave at our son's birthday party. As a 6 year old, he is very interested in reptiles and the program you presented was not only informative but interesting and entertaining as well. You made him feel special as the birthday boy, but you also did an excellent job of including all of the children (even the ones who were a bit squeamish at first). We could tell from your enthusiasm that you really enjoy what you do and it definitely shows in your work. Thanks again. Mark and Mary (parents)
My husband, Alexander and I just want to say a huge Thank You for coming to entertain and educate Alex's guests. You did an absolutely wonderful job with the kids. They are still talking about all of the animals. Thank you for making Alexander's 2nd Birthday so special! Marcia (parent)
I have been meaning to write you a note of thanks since my son, Brian's, 11th birthday party! I thought you did a fabulous job! As a teacher, I especially was impressed with how you built up the level of anticipation before you brought out each critter! You totally captivated all of the boys - not an easy thing with 11 year olds! It was a very memorable birthday party! Thank You! Sonja (parent)
I want to thank you for coming to Grady's birthday party. We thought your program was well worth the money. You were wonderful with the children and they learned so much. Thank you so much. Amy (parent)
Thank you again! The children were just in awe. To watch them was as exciting for me as the snake was for Austin. Thank you so much for being so good to him on his birthday! He really had a great time. His next words were “we should have her over for Grandma and Aunt Chrissy because they missed her.” You do a wonderful presentation. I so enjoy you with the children! Constance (parent)
Thanks to you and your son for the great show and to your menagerie. The kids loved it, and I’m sure the reptile world has won itself a few more young devotees. I myself will be less frantic should a garter snake cross my path in the garden. I know many adults who could benefit from your show. Thanks again, Peggy (parent)
The party was absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much. The parents had as much fun as their kids. You were wonderful! Marci (parent)
Thank you so much for the wonderful program you gave at our son Paul’s birthday party! He and his friends are still talking about the animals that you taught them about, but even more importantly, how brave they were to hold the animals that they were taught to be afraid of (Mom included!)! I have recommended your program several times since to parents and Paul’s school. You perform a valuable and important service to animals and people alike. Dan and Joan (parents)
I can’t thank you enough for the most wonderful birthday party we’ve ever had! What you taught us about animals will stay with us forever. And it was so entertaining the kids didn’t even realize they were learning! Pam (parent)
LETTERS FROM TEACHERS/DIRECTORS OF DAYCARE CENTERS Thank you for a wonderful critter show! Your enthusiasm is outstanding; it’s as if you are meeting each animal for the first time!! I know we’ll have you back. Susie (ECFE teacher)
I just wanted to thank you very much for coming to our center. I heard many positive comments from my coworkers and the children talked all afternoon about what they saw and all the things you told them! We would love to have you back in the future. Good luck and continued success to you -you really are doing great work with children! Jody (ECFE teacher)
It was again a pleasure to have you here with us. You do much to alleviate children’s fears (staff members too) concerning these beautiful creatures, as well as educating them. Your presentations are age appropriate and memorable. Thank you for a wonderful time! Hope to see you next year Dorothy (Director of Preschool and Kindergarten)
We just wanted to let you know how pleased all the teachers and children were with your presentation at our Center last week. Many of the teachers commented on how well you presented your information about the animals and made it easy to understand for all the various age groups. The also appreciated how well you emphasized environmental concerns, responsible pet ownership, and how inappropriate fears of animals are generated. You were able to make these points in a manner the children could understand and yet you didn’t lecture them. The hands-on program was wonderful for the children. Their interest was captured and they really listened to you tell them all about the animals. Now every time we go to the Treehouse room the children ask ... ”will the lady with the animals be there?” We’ve used several new resources throughout this past school year for our monthly presentations. I have asked the teachers to provide feedback to me concerning how well they would rate the program and whether or not we should keep the resource on our list for future presentations. I received all positive feedback about your program so you’ll definitely remain on our list. Thanks again. We hope you’ll continue doing all the good work you do. Marilyn (Director of Family Child Dev. Center)
LETTERS FROM STUDENTS/TEACHERS/PRINCIPALS AT SCHOOLS Thank you for coming and bringing in the animals. I really enjoyed it. It encouraged me a lot to save the Rainforests and the animals in it. I hope you can come back some other time. I appreciated holding your animals. I hope to make the future a better place! Thank you for coming! Whitney (student)
I appreciated what you did for the 4th graders at Island Lake School. I liked how you let kids hold the Rainforest animals and bugs. My favorite animals were the bird, the snake and the frog. Thank you for letting us (the 4th graders) see the pictures of the Rainforest. Some day I Hope I can visit the Rainforest, it looks really cool. About a month ago my class and I did a Rainforest presentation, we all picked an animal that lives in the Rainforest, I picked an Ocelot. Another thing I did on the Rainforest was a poster with Maggie. Thank you for all you did. Becky (student)
Thank you for bringing in all the critters. I really liked your parrot. I loved her colors. In my class this year we had some larva's. Your dragon lizard was really cool! Millipedes do some really neat things. I love animals. Megan (student)
Thank you for bringing your pets -- hedgehog, parrot, beetle, snake, lizard, tortoise, millipede, salamander. I think you did a great performance! Aleska (student)
Fantastic! Julie reinforced many of the key concepts we have been teaching this past week! The students were so excited when given the opportunity to hold the animals. I like how she had actually been to the Rainforest. This seemed to hold the students' attention. We could have listened to her for another 20 minutes! Kyle (teacher)
We needed 15 minutes more! Wow -- Julie has a wealth of knowledge which she shared on a level that was understood by our students. Her level of comfort with her animals was extended to our students and they picked up on that when they held the animals. We liked the way she stressed the interdependence of plants, animals and humans in the rainforest. Great conclusion -- asking students if they were willing to make a commitment and showing her recycled shoes! She practices what she preaches. Cedar House Grade 6 Team (teachers)
What a wonderful performance! Julie made it fun and exciting for the students. Her enthusiasm was evident and refreshing! It fit into our lesson plans perfectly. It was beneficial to have someone speak who had actual first hand knowledge about the rainforest. Lee Anne (teacher)
Your presentation was outstanding, everyone loved the animals. The expression on the children’s faces as they held the animals was a joy in itself. Excellent information and control of students. Hope to see you again next year! Irene (teacher)
The program presented was superior! Countless "tie-ins" with our curriculum study of the rainforest. Julie's personal experiences and first hand expert knowledge provided credibility and authenticity to her program! M. Sullivan (teacher)
Thanks a million for a fantastic presentation. Everyone had a great time -- and learned plenty! I'll pass along your card with high praises! Ellen (teacher)
Merci, merci, merci mille fois! As always, it was such a learning experience to have you come to our school. Your presentation was a great introduction to our April theme on Environments. We were very impressed with how you presented your material in the fashion of a growing Rainforest, describing the several layers of the forest, their animals and their importance in the whole. Thank you kindly for your time and efforts in sharing your knowledge with our students. The kids were so intrigued by your presentation. In fact, the students continually talk about your presentation. As you can see by these cards the children made for you, you were much appreciated. We look forward to seeing you again next year!!! Thank you again for your time and energy. Normandale Grade 2 Team (teachers)
Your presentation "Going, Going ... Gone!" was wonderful. I can usually gauge the quality of a program by how fidgety the students get or the amount of sidebar talking. The students' attention was captured the whole hour. By this standard, your program would get an A. Thank you for being a part of our Earth week celebration. It was a great way to start the week. Bruce (principal)
LETTERS FROM CHURCHES Thank you so much for your wonderful presentation! I heard from several teachers (and children) how much they enjoyed it, and how informative and entertaining you (and your critters) were. I certainly appreciated it (as did they) and look forward to asking you again. Kathy (Director of Youth Education) Thank you so much for an excellent program. The students and staff have talked of nothing else. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending to our Catholic Schools Week theme “All God’s Critters.” Your message about God’s plan for all of us was appreciated. Our children cannot hear this too often. Claudia (Principal)
Thank you so much for your willingness to lead an interest group at "Fellowship For All." Your presentations continue to be one of the most popular groups we have at this event. I especially appreciate your enthusiasm for young children in making this presentation lively for them. We hope you will come back and join us again soon. Mary (Pastor)
LETTERS FROM SCOUT LEADERS Once again you completely outdid yourself with another fabulous show featuring your wonderful animal friends. I cannot tell you how much the kids were awed by every creature you brought and how well you taught all of us the “good things” we don’t always hear about certain animals. You do an unbelievable job juggling between presenting each animal, being so patient in allowing each child to get a turn to touch or hold it and in then also teaching us all about each particular animal in such a wonderfully fun yet highly educational way. You truly have a wonderful way of relating to kids (of all ages) and you must amaze and mesmerize each audience you cater to. Again, a hundred thousand thank-yous!!! Den 14 will always remember you and your animal friends and will hopefully teach their friends all the great things you taught all of us! Bridget and Mike (Cub Scout Pack Leaders)
We are writing to thank you for bringing you animal exhibit to the Pack 52 Blue and Gold Banquet. I personally didn’t get to see the whole show, but I did see enough to notice that the boys were acquiring a different outlook on some animals that they don’t get to see all of the time. (I even touched my first snake!) I’m sure it’s safe to speak for all of us at Pack 52, by saying that we all really enjoyed your animals and the information you provided. Thank you so much for exposing us to some of the animals that some of us thought were disgusting and useless and giving us a chance to find out the value and beauty of these animals. Barbara, Gwen, Jerome (Cub Scout Pack Leaders)
We’d like to thank you again for the great animal presentation you made at our April Pack Meeting. The boys and their parents really enjoyed it. Thanks for making our Pack Meeting a great success! Pack 265 (Cub Scout Pack Leaders) ORGANIZERS OF SPECIAL EVENTS Thank you so much, Julie for a fabulous presentation that was enjoyed by all! We certainly appreciate you taking your time to educate our guests about the importance of protecting wildlife and the habitats they live in. Heather (Placer County S.P.C.A.,)
On behalf of everyone here at L-SWTG, thank you so much for participating in the 3rd Annual Spring Family Festival. Your talents contributed a wonderful element to the day. Families in attendance felt that your presentation was very thought provoking and educational. Children were delighted with the creatures and the parents were delighted by the quality of the presentation. We look forward to seeing you again. Patty (Organizer of Community Events)
Thank you for participating once again in Oakwood’s Science, Math and Computer Fair. As last year, your wonderful presentation style and critters were one of our most popular events. Jane (Organizer of Science, Math and Computer Fair)
I would like to thank you for bringing the animals to our classroom so that we had the opportunity to see them and learn about them. It is not that often that we get a chance to do these kinds of things. Many of the students in our class like all kinds of animals. Due to the fact that we have the luxury of having students from all over the world, the wide range of animals was especially interesting. Some of the students have seen some of the animals that you brought because they live in the part of the world that they come from. Others saw these animals for the first time and they were surprised to learn that they were so friendly, especially the snakes. Many of the students agree that animals are very important to this planet. They also agree that the rainforest is very important to us humans. Some of the students noticed that you care a lot about animals and this is the same way they feel. If possible, we would like you to return some time and visit us again. We always are grateful to anyone that is willing to teach us something that we would not otherwise have the opportunity to learn. Again, a big THANK YOU for your visit, Literacy One (Minnesota Correctional Facility)
Thank you for being a special guest at our store’s 4th Anniversary Celebration today. Your critters were a perfect fit of our theme of “being in touch with nature.” Thanks again! Greg and Kay (Owners of Bay Tree)
